Locally sourced, Reimagined
As part of the refurbishment of a Stockholm office space, a series of custom-designed shelves was developed using tiles reclaimed directly from the building. The intervention is rooted in principles of local re-use, material integrity, and architectural continuity.
The shelves are constructed from rectangular stoneware tiles, originally mounted on the office walls and finished in a matte grey glaze. Carefully removed and repurposed, these tiles now serve as durable shelf surfaces, carrying the material history of the space into its next phase.
A simple, adaptable framework in oiled, planed oak is proportioned precisely to the dimensions of the tiles. Designed for flexibility, the structure can be easily assembled, disassembled, extended, or reduced, allowing it to respond to changing spatial needs over time.
Produced in varying lengths, the shelves are integrated throughout the shared areas of the office, subtly linking the building’s original fabric with its renewed interior.
