Sustainable Office Transformation
Reuse has been the primary option in all choices when transforming the offices for Skandia Fastigheter in Frölunda torg center in Gothenburg. Changes in the floor plan have been done to optimize the use of the space placing the social gathering space closest to the entrance and offices and focus rooms and library further into the calmer parts of the space. New walls have been placed strategically to reuse as much as possible of the existing floorplan. As part of the renovation the acoustic performance of the walls have been enhanced with insulation, the lighting is a mix of re-used lighting fixtures and new LED lighting for the general lighting. Kitchen cabinets have been reused, a beautiful parquet floor has been re-used from a harbour building and used both as floor covering and dressing of the kidney shaped kitchen island.

The furnishings and the interior of the project has a carbon footprint that is 97% lower than a conventional furnishing with new products. To achieve this we have reused chairs, office tables etc. within the company, we have bought re-used chairs, carpets and lighting fixtures, and we have upcycled furniture within the office.

A balanced colour scheme of green, nude/pink och yellow create a harmonious backdrop to the re-used furniture and the antique carpets add some fun patterns.
