Renovation of a 1960s villa
Originally designed in 1968 by architect Vello Erenurm, this villa in Nacka had gradually lost parts of its architectural clarity through successive alterations. The project seeks to reconnect the house with its original logic of materials and spatial relationships.
Parts of the façade are replaced and new window openings introduced to strengthen the relationship between the interior and the garden. Vertical oak slats treated with traditional Roslagsmahogany reinterpret the original dark timber façades and their vertical rhythm.
The garden is reshaped with slate surfaces and a new pool measuring 9.25 × 2.75 metres. Inside, Ekeberg marble forms a central material, extending the material language inherent in the original architecture.
